Winter has set in and now is the time to protect our hair with a little more TLC. Just like you have to protect your skin, your hair also suffers in the cold
We all love a good hot shower but it can do a number on your hair especially in the colder months. Water dehydrates your skin and hair so keep the temperature down.
Research shows during the colder months reduce your shampooing to 2-3 times per week to help prevent hair from drying out too much.
Cold causes your scalp to become drier which leads to irritation. Keep your scalp mosturized. Use coconut oil to massge into your scalp, leave 15-20 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and condition as normal.
Double up on your conditioner usage.
If possible, its always a good idea to air dry your hair and limit use of hot tools, dryer, irons, etc. If you must use hot tools, make sure you use heat protectant spray. and blow dry using cool setting.
